the space between

The tiny pixels are what drew me to this illustration. I’m not sure what exactly the artist is trying to communicate but to me the pixels suggest technology. I have always been intrigued by the way that human interaction has evolved so quickly in recent decades due to the rapid development of new technologies and modes of communication.  I suppose the telephone and internet have brought us innumerable benefits in terms of flexibility and convenience. The whole social network thing though I feel is slightly disturbing. Even iPhones are overstepping the line a bit. Thinking about it too much makes me squirm a bit because I feel like technology and all its metal bits and wires are slowly taking over our lives. I have this fear that we’re all going to become part machine and lose all ability to function sans technology. Like the rest of us, I too have fallen victim the the lure of technology. Whenever my phone is out of battery I get this anxious feeling in my chest like I’m going to miss something really important or I can’t do anything or go anywhere. Getting all squirmy now :(

Anyway so that’s the string of thoughts that seeing this picture sparked in my mind. Still a lovely illustration.
